Reaserh- Narative Themes- Miss Begum

What are themes? why are they important to identify for the audience?

 Themes are the topics within a film, that create meaning and understanding In a movie For example love and obsession are two themes, it helps the audience to understand the description and understand what the movie is about.

How are themes dependant on genres and why?

Themes are important and depends on other genres because it allows the viewers to see what is the main theme within the film. This allows the viewers to feel the emotions related to that film and feel sympathy towards what the character is going through. This also helps the viewer relate and understand the character. without themes there would be confusion and lack of understanding on the the events happening.

  1. Good post here on what themes are and how they are relevant to create audience understanding.

    To improve;
    -include a few more themes in the films that you include
    -identify a few genres of film and their themes like comedy, rom-coms etc
